At Farwell House, we are dedicated to supporting local artists from all disciplines and to creating opportunities for engagement between visiting artists and members of our rural communities. We operate on the belief that the practice of and enjoyment of art are crucial to a healthy society.

  • “The arts matter because they allow us to express ourselves and illustrate the world around us in a different light, helping us to gain understanding, build communities, and give hope.” – Kelli Rogowisk

Your support of Farwell House and its programming allows us to continue providing a space for artists to develop their practice and foster connections between our community members and the arts. It also allows us to support and promote local artists and creatives through our Strummin' on the Hill event and art exhibits. Maybe most importantly, your support allows us to operate a space where art and community are valued and promoted.

Jessica Lambert, a visiting artist from Oklahoma, had this to say about her time at Farwell House.

"While at Farwell House, I was able to devote my time to my studio practice. I got a massive amount of work done on a large installation piece for solo shows I had later that year. My two weeks at the residency were imperative to the completion of that work. Christy and Jason have truly nurtured a culture of support and care for artists and the community they live in."

Since its start in 2017, the Farwell House has been able to offer residencies to 36 artists from across the United States. These artists have taught workshops for community members, hosted open studio sessions, and offered presentations on their work. Strummin' on the Hill has provided paid gigs to 15 local musicians and songwriters and free entertainment for the surrounding communities, and we have been able to showcase the work of 5 local artists with one-day exhibitions. Your support is what allows us to continue this important work.

Farwell House is committed to its mission of supporting the arts in our region. Will you partner with us in this endeavor?
